Flood Cause Analysis and Ongoing Advice To a Mill Owner Who Is A Charitable Trust

In many ways this work was initially a simple Flood Risk Assessment with the rather unusual twist that the flood had already happened. The client is a charitable trust who owns and leases out a Victorian Mill complex. The site is on the current flood plain sitting across flood zones 2/3 but flooded for the first time in the client’s ownership in 2022.

The ongoing work looks to assess if; the level of flooding that occurred matched that predicted from the rainfall, what the effect of climate change will be on the frequency and levels of flooding and working with the Environment Agency to look at potential mitigation measures to protect the site or manage the flood levels in the River Tame that runs alongside the site.
